MADISON, Wis. – Face masks will become voluntary in the University of Wisconsin system in a period between March 1 and spring break. System President Tommy Thompson announced the relaxation of CoVid precautions. Widespread vaccinations statewide and waning case numbers justify the change, Thompson said. Vaccines and tests will still be available on campuses, he said. Also, he said, students  numbers statewide and employees may still opt to wear masks.
