WINONA, Minn. – A man told police that he was attacked by another guy with the handle of a rake outside a house in the 400 block of Mankato Avenue. The guy picked up the rake, broke it in half, and went after him with the broken end and struck his hand and elbow, the man said. The other guy then walked away, he said. This was about 1:15 a.m. The man had cuts, police said. Officers tracked down the other guy, whom they said denied everything. Police passed their notes on the incident to the county attorney to review possible charges.
