Early start on partying. After the Winona State homecoming parade at the Kappa Chi fraternity house on Huff Street. Amid signs of social respectability, like blue refuse containers, was trash piling up as quickly as the beer was sipped, quaffed and gulped. Look closely: You’ll see more celebrants gripping plastic beer cups than not. Music throbbed from loud speakers, but was muted enough so that neigbors didn’t call the cops. Images: Steve Lunde
New chapter in mansion’s life
Put down the beer. “And let’s play frisbee.” Buddies fling discs on the lawn at the historic Huff-Lamberton mansion. The property has belonged to the Kappa Chi fraternity since 2023 , when the guys paid $1.3 million to buy the place. They’ve lived there since.
