ST. PAUL., Minn. — Minnesota’s population grew from 5.3 million in 2010 to 5.7 million in 2020, an increase of 7.6%, according to the U.S. Census Bureau. In St. Paul, state femographer Susan Brower said the numbers didn’t surprise her. Most of the growth, 78%, was in the Twin Cities metropolitan area, she said. Brower noted outstate pockets of growth too, notably Rochester and St. Cloud. For more than a decade, futurologists have predicted an urban high-tech corridor stretching 150 miles from Rochester through the Twin Cities to St. Cloud.
