KELLOGG, Minn. – A Kellogg driver died after a two-vehicle collision at the troubled intersection of Highway 61 and the cut-off to Rochester on Route 42. James Leroy Gander, 78, died at the Wabasha hospital. The other driver, Jaidyn Rose Schutz, 19, of Welch, also was taken to the Wabasha hospital. Her injuries were not considered life-threatening. The intersection is an exit to a busy Kwik Trip fuel stop outside Kellogg. Gander was heading south on Highway 61, toward Winona, in a 2018 Dodge Ram pickup. Schutz was in a 2002 Ford Taurus. The accident was about 3:10 p.m.
