ROCHESTER Minn. — An Eyota man was charged with brandishing a pistol and knocking another man unconscious with it. In the incident, in June, the victim said that Jesse Joseph Johnson, 28, tried to shoot him during a fight but the gun jammed. Johnson then hit the victim in the face with the weapon and rendered him unconscious, the victim said. Now Johnson has been charged with assault and possessing a firearm as a felon. The incident was in a shop in southeast Rochester.  Court records show that Johnson, as a felon, shouldn’t have had a gun. He served time after being caught with meth and marijuana at Mystic Lake Casino in 2019.
