WABASHA, Minn. – A Lake City man who struck and fatally injured a teen-age skateboarder was sentenced to six months in jail. Bernard Quist, 88, will serve his time in 10-day increments every year on the date of rhe accident. Judge Christopher Nelsen issued the sentence.iQuist had driven away from the scene but returned later and turned himself in. Quist’s blood-alcohol was above 0.9%, which means he was legally impaired. Killed by the impact: Adriana Simon, 16. She was c rossing the street road near Isaak Walton Park at night.
