WAUKESHA, Wis. – A man who drove into a Christmas parade crowd and killed six people and injured dozens was sentenced to life in prison. Judge Jennifer Dorow said there will be no parole for 40-year-old d Darrell Brooks Jr. The courtroom gallery broke into applause when Dorow pronounced the sentence — 762 years in prison on just on endangerment counts alone, plus the six life terms. Yes, that’s 762 years — no typo. Brooks was not in court. Because of Brooks’ incessant disruptiveness through the trial, the judge ordered he be held outside and watch the sentencing by video. . His mother and grandmother pleaded that Brooks belonged in a mental institution, not prison. Brooks himself had made the same argument. Judge Dorow would have one of it. She said that four psychologists had concluded that Brooks has an anti-social personality disorder but not a mental illness.
