EYOTA, Minn. – One person was overcome by smoke in a fire in a garage attached to house and taken to a Rochester hospital. Damage was estimated at $105,000. Firefighters were called about 9:30 a.m. The two-car garage was already consumed in flames. Firefighters were hindered by wind, sub-zero temperatures, drifting snow and a wall of trees next to the garage. Also, no hydrant was handy. Rochester had four engines and a tanker at the scene and Eyota two tankers. The fire was near Chester Woods Park in the 7000 block of 30th Street Southeast.
