WINONA, Minn. – Kendra Leigh Atherton-Guenther, 29, of Winona, a public health worker whose focus was children, died at Gundersen hospital in LaCrosse from injuries in a car accident. She eld a degree in public health from Winona State University. In high school in Monona, Wisconsin, she participated in church mission trips. These included a four-month internship in Malawi, where worked for children’s rights and medical attention. Following the internship she worked at Wesley United Methodist Church, the Family & Children’s Center in La Crosse, and Winona County.
