WINONA, Minn. — Sheriff Ron Ganrude said he doesn’t want anybody going to jail for noncompliance with Governor Tim Walz’ restrictions on businesses that fail to follow public health legalities during the pandemic. Ganrude noted that enforcement generally is handled by the attorney general. Local law enforcement agencies, he said, may be asked to verify complaints and inform proprietors about the restrictions.  Ganrude said his office would be “in unison” trying to get compliance through the attorney general.
