WINONA, Minn. – The Sauer nursing home, where the first rash of CoVid pandemic deaths occurred, has been sued by the sons of one of a residents who died. Roger and Eugene Eide blame their father’s death on improper infection control protocols. They allege that 87-year-old Elmer Eide was placed in a room with a Co-Vid-infected man, that he himself tested positive two days later, and that he died two weeks later. The suit notes that Sauer was cited by the state Health Department for infection control lapses. These lapses, said the agency, included failure to isolate symptomatic residents.
