WINONA, Minn. – Tourism chief Pat Mutter called on merchants to spruce up and stand by for 22 cruise boats to dock in Winona over the summer. Each stop will be 8-1/2 to 10-1/2 hours, Mutter said. Her tourism booster organization, Visit Winona, is working with city agencies, merchants and museums to make the most of the river tourists disembarking in town. “We want to encourage everyone who owns a business downtown to be welcoming and be ready to get all of these visitors out and about in the downtown area,” Mutter said in an interview on radio station KWNO.
