The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers has a growing nightmare: Where to pile the never-ending, always growing sediment dredged to keep the Mississippi River navigation channel open. The scale of the problem is huge: Here at Latsch Island, look carefully, very carefully, to see a yellow bulldozer near the shore. The dozer keeps plowing silt up new furrows with every pass.
