WINONA, Minn. – Winona State University reported tracking 10 student Covid cases and one employee case, a slight uptick from the previous week. The university has declined to offer additional data to explain the status of the cases: Are affected person in isolation? In quarantine? Merely positive tests? The university has declined to explain why it has curtailed its reporting to the public about the campus situation from last year. .With 6,400 undergraduates, mostly out-of-towners, the university had been considered a potentially significant incubating site for Covid in the community, although stringent rules, including isolated dorm facilities for affected students, helped keep the disease in check. So too did a shift to almost complete delivery of instruction.
