WINONA, Minn. – A planetary geologist at Winona State University, Jennifer Anderson, was on a team that won a $1 million NASA grant for research on lunar cratering. The grant allows Anderson and her students to continue experiments that bean in 2007. The experiments examine the effects of meteor impact on buried rocks and boulders under the Moon surface. The project title: “The Role of Small-Scale Target Heterogeneities in the Formation and Morphology of Small Craters.”
