WINONA, Minn.  – The Common Book program director at Winona State University, April Herndon, asked fellow faculty to look for ways to incorporate themes from Ellen Forney’s book “Marbles” into their syllabuses for fall semester. The book deals with mental health and other personal issues with which Forney, a cartoonist, has dealt. The idea of the Common Book program is to promote campus-wide dialogue that makes for a unique Winona State experience. “Marbles” has been a best-seller since it was published in 2012. There is a new common book every year.
