LACROSSE, Wis. – The child sex trial of a Mayo doctor was delayed until a statrecrime lab finishes evaluating evidence. The trial of pediatrician Joseph Thomas Poterucha, 41, now will go a pre-trial conference in January, said Judge Todd Bjerke. At issue in the delay was evidence that prosecution claimed it needed. Poterucha was charged in October 2021 with three counts of sexual assault on a prepubscent child. Each count can mean 60 years in prison.
