WINONA, Minn. –A Winona man who apparently was too drunk to recall what happened is going to prison for four years for a head-on collision that killed a Winona State University student. Adam Anderson, 36, was sentenced for criminal vehicular homicide and criminal vehicular operation even though he claimed he didn’t recall his actions. The accident was in February. Police said Anderson was driving the wrong way on a four-lane section of Highway 61 near Mankato Avenue. His pickup crashed into a sedan that rolled into the ditch. A passenger, Hannah Goman, was ejected and suffered fatal injuries. Police said Anderson’s pickup smelled strongly of alcohol.
